Seriously, You Need to Check this Out!

This morning has been an uncommon one for me, so I’m just going to give you a resource recommendation that you should all take a little time to check out.  One thing you need to know about me is that nothing I say is original.  The idea or material always begins somewhere else by way of someone else’s noggin, so I’m passionate about resources because I’m seriously lacking in imagination and creativity.

One publishing company that I am becoming increasingly excited about is The Good Book Company.  They are a ministry that is all about publishing resources to help people read, study and live the Bible more faithfully.  I love their motto: “Let the Bible Do the Talking”.  What a novel idea, right?  We read a lot of other Christian living and theology books, but the book where we should dedicate most of our time and energy should be God’s Word!  Their resources are extremely practical and designed according to stages of spiritual growth so that you can benefit from increased Bible exposure no matter where you are in your Christian life.

After taking my family through The Jesus Storybook Bible for the third time, the binding tore off, so I decided to look at other resources for family worship.  I ordered a subscription of The Good Book Company’s Table Talk: Bible Discovery for Families.  It’s an easy, accessible guide to leading your family in daily Bible reading, complete with questions to ask and prayer ideas.  It’s designed for children 4 to 7 and the focus is only on 2 to 3 verses a day.  Another resource that we give away at Calvary Bible Church is Listen Up: A Practical Guide to Listening to Sermons.  It’s a short and sweet look a subject that has rarely been touched, but which the Church is in desperate to embrace.    This is only a couple of examples of the stellar catalog that this ministry has put out, so spend a few minutes perusing to your heart’s delight!
